This weekend was laughing and smiling, waiting and pretending not to, playing with babies and getting sunburned.
Oh, and by the way,
the hugs were much appreciated, the food was delicious, and the sympathy welcomed. Several times on the way down, I almost cried thinking about how much I love my family and how lucky I am to have them. I don't remind myself of that often enough. We went to the waterpark Saturday where I lathered sunscreen on everyone but myself and promptly fell asleep on my stomach, listening to Luckie Strike and Dance Hall Crashers [The Grrrl Punk CD I made for Megan but didn't want to part with] and smiling at all the silly flirtations between people I didn't know. Now it hurts to wear shirts, but luckily enough hugs aren't so bad. That night I ate a delicious dinner, laughed with my brothers and dads [David
and Troy] and friend [Aaron], and watched Shrek. The next day I woke up around 8 and fell back to sleep only to find that 3 hours had gone by. I fell in love with Joel's baby, Sebastian, and I think he kinda liked me back. =) After lunch, I anxiously waited for Aaron to get back, then for Warner to come, then hoped we would somehow be delayed in our leaving. Shelia Gordy is staying with us. Her family is our family and we could never get enough of each other; I thought she would've grown, but she's stilly a teeny tiny little girl that I can pick up and spin.
Christa is at camp for the next week or so, and I'm alone in my Emotional Gimpdom, but I plan to cook for therapy, revive/create friendships, and stay up late creating.
Summer is in full swing.
